ACHIEVED RESULTS

Within the framework of the project, the seabed of the Northern Port in Nessebar was cleaned through two diving campaigns. First, a remote survey of the seabed was carried out to identify the debris by type, then with two diving campaigns, all debris was cleaned up.

More than 1,200 – 1,300 car tires, as well as umbrellas, dead anchors and other debris, were removed from the seabed. The leaders of the project considered this a serious success in the fight for a cleaner sea and a successful tourist season.

Drones and sonars were used to achieve the project’s goals, with which all waste on the seabed was identified, registered and mapped. They have been transported to the Transshipment Station – Nessebar, where they will be sorted and handed over for recycling.
